This dome was built by al-Zahir Abi al-Saeed Qansuh to be a place for his body and his final resting place. .
Within the framework of the state’s development of roads inside Cairo, where the (Al-Firdaws/Jihan Al-Sadat) axis was established, the Arab Contractors Company, under the supervision of the Ministries of Antiquities and Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities, restored and developed the dome and coordinated its general site.
The renovations included the installation of a new internal and external lighting system for the dome, in addition to careful restoration work, for the mihrab and the dome from the inside, and all the lanterns (the sultan’s emblem) and the inscription tapes decorated with them, cleaning them and fixing their colors and showing them, taking into account the technical and archaeological principles followed. The archaeological restoration also included paving and paving. The area and plant basins suitable for the nature of the monument, and the installation of identification panels for the dome, in addition to the installation of surveillance cameras.
