Restoration of Eliyahu Hanavi Synagogue in Alexandria - Egypt

The total area of the synagogue is 4200m, it has two floors: one for men and the other for women, a central library with a high value that most of its components return to the 15th Century. The synagogue includes rows of wooden seats accommodates 700 persons, marble boxes for fund-raising for poor and sick Jews, number of offices for the Jewish Community which provide services for the community. It is noteworthy that the synagogue was established on 1881, it is a Jewish synagogue. It is located in Nabi Daniel Street in the downtown in Alexandria. It is the most ancient and famous synagogue in the Middle East, it was built on the ruins of an old synagogue built in 1354 and was bombed during the French Campaign in Egypt.
