The station is located on an area of 7 feddans, and its design capacity is 51 thousand m3/day in the first phase, and 104 thousand m3/Day in the second phase, at a total cost of 1 billion L.E, and the station serves 350 000 persons in the city and villages of Menouf and Sers El Layyan.
The civil works of El Hamoul Water Station include the intake, the turbid water manhole, the turbid and filtered water pumps building, the distribution well, 2 underground tanks, the chemicals building, chlorine cylinders and injections’ building, liquid Alum tanks and concentration basins. In addition to the electromechanical works of the station which includes the transformers, generator, pumps, operating panels, and other electromechanical works.
The length of the water networks and pipelines reached 90 km approximately; it is implemented in 2 phases. The first phase with a length of 20 km was implemented; to feed the cities of Menouf and Sers El Layyan, and 10 villages belonging to them; the second phase with a length of 70 km approximately, 25 km of them have been implemented, and the implementation of the remaining lengths of the 21 villages is ongoing.
