Al Sidfa and Al Ghanayem water network and station in Assiut - Egypt

Served areas: Al Sidfa/ Al Ghanayem and affiliated villages.
Number of beneficiaries: 488 thousand people until 2040.
The expected estimated cost of the project without the elevated water tanks: LE 230 million.
Completion date: 12/6/2016.
Villages benefiting from the station: (26 villages in Al Sidfa and Al Ghanayem)
Implemented work and networks until 3/2015 (electromechanical civil works): LE 228 million.
Location: Al Biba Village - Al Sidfa – Assiut.
Station area: 7.5 feddans.
Station capacity:
600 liters/second, with a capacity of 51 thousand m3/day (first phase)
1200 liters/second, with a capacity of 102 m3 meters/day (second phase)
Station components:
1- The intake (3 welded steel pipes, diameter 800 mm).
2- Building of the turbid and filtered water pumps.
3- Purifiers distribution chamber.
4- 4 purifiers (including 2 first phase and 2 second phase).
5- 2 ground tanks (Including 1 first phase and 1 second phase).
6 - 2 filters (Including 1 first phase and 1 second phase).
7- Sludge drying basins (3 basins)
8- Sludge thickeners (2 tanks)
9-Annex buildings:
A – Generator.
B- The transformer.
C Chemical building and warehouse.
D - Chlorine building.
10 - Administrative buildings:
A - Workshop and warehouse.
B- The administrative building.
C - The prayer.
D - Gate and room of the guard.
E - Guard tower

•The total length of the networks (including connection points) is approximately 56 km, with diameters from 1200 mm to 150 mm.
•30 crossings.
•2 pipe jacking crossings is 2 tunnels, one of which is under Bani Fiz Canal and Egypt-Aswan road, and the other is under Nagaa Hammadi Canal and the Egyptian Railways.
•59 chambers for lock and air valve.
•26 washout chambers on the crossings.
