Strategic Objective:
To connect NewAbu Qir Port with the International Coastal Road, thereby facilitating fastercargo transportation and alleviating traffic congestion in the easterndistricts of Alexandria (Al Maamoura, Tousson,and Al Montaza).
Main Project Components:
· Rakta Bridge: Constructionof an elevated bridge over Al Ammia Drain and Rakta Canal with a total lengthof 440m.
· Railway Bridge: the constructionof a bridge over El Maadiya Road and the railway line with a total length of290 m.
· Surface Bridges: 8 surfacebridges over the main drainage canals, with an average length of 20 m and awidth of 12 m for each.
· Tunnels: 2 tunnels: 6 mwidth and 4 m height, average length 40 m for each
Location Importance:
It is anintegral part of the comprehensive development of Abu Qir Port to become one ofthe largest ports in the Mediterranean Sea while enhancing commercial andlogistics activities.
