Greater Cairo Wastewater Projects - Egypt

These projects were implemented in several phases in partnership with specialized international companies. The projects include the implementation of the main tunnels, pipelines, and one of the largest wastewater treatment plants in the world.

Contract No. (14):
- A tunnel with a diameter of 1.8 m & 1.46 m and a length of 11.676 km.
- Micro tunnels with a diameter of 100 mm & 600 mm and a length of 5.676 km.
- 24 manholes.
- 97 main inspection chambers.

Contract No. (15):
- A tunnel with a diameter of 1.8 m & 1.46 m and a length of 11.635 km.
- Micro tunnels with a diameter of 100 mm & 600 mm long and 6.018 km long.
- 54 manholes.
- 110 main inspection chambers.

Contract No. (3):
The inner diameter of the tunnel ranges from 1.2 m to 2.8 m, the depth is 21 m and the length is 4 km.
- 3 branches of tunnels with a length of 2 km and an inner diameter from 1.2 m to 2.8 m.
- 16 pivotal manholes.
- 5 circular manholes with a diameter range from 4.85 m to 10 m and depth 26m.
- 11 main inspection chambers.

Contract No. (12):
-The inner diameter of the tunnel is 4 m, the depth is 17 m and the length is 3.3 km.
- A side tunnel with a diameter 1.2 m and a length of 800m.
- 11 manholes with a diameter of 5 m & 9 m.
- 26 main inspection chambers.

Contract No. (12/5A)
-The inner diameter of the tunnel ranges from 2.2 m to 2.87 m, the length is 6.6 km.
- 21 pivotal manholes with a diameter range from 5m to 9m for each.

Contract (19) Al Gabal Al Asfar Wastewater Treatment Plant (Phase 2 - part 1) .. Cairo.
It is a wastewater treatment plant using the Anaerobic Process (Digester) method. The components of the treatment plant include a pump station with a capacity of 500,000 m3 / day. The plant includes the entry, manual and mechanical clarifiers, sand sedimentation basins, 2 pump stations for the screening tanks, 48 primary and final sedimentation tanks, 16 sludge basins, 2 sludge pumping stations, 4 biological aeration basins, 14 chlorine mixing basins, reflux and excess sludge pump stations, 30 sludge tanks, drying basins, 2 fuel tanks, 10 power stations with a capacity of 2.32 MW for each, and a water outlet to the emergency channel, in addition to the necessary service buildings for the station.

Contract (16) Al Gabal Al Asfar Wastewater Treatment Plant (Phase I) .. Cairo
Anaerobic waste water treatment plant (Digester); the project components include a pump station with a capacity of 1 million m3/day. The plant includes entrances, manual and mechanical clarifiers, sand sedimentation basins, 2 pump stations for purification tanks, primary and final sedimentation basins, sludge concentration basins, 2 pump stations for sludge, biological aeration basins, chlorine mixing basins, pump stations for reflux and excess sludge, sludge tanks, drying basins, 2 fuel tanks, power stations, and a water outlet to the emergency channel, in addition to the necessary service buildings for the station.
