Following the directives of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, Professor Dr. Osama Al Azhari - the Minister of Awqaf, Dr. Ibrahim Saber - Cairo Governor, and Professor Dr. Ali Gomaa - Member of the Council of Senior Scholars and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Al Al Mawaddah Foundation for Development and Improvement, inaugurated the Mosque and Shrine of Sayyida Aisha Al Nabawiyya (may God be pleased with her) in Cairo. This followed the completion of comprehensive restoration and development work carried out by the Arab Contractors Company, as part of an integrated project implemented by Al Mawaddah Foundation for Development and Improvement, in cooperation with the Ministries of Awqaf and Antiquities and Cairo Governorate.
The renovation work was carried out in a manner befitting the sacred status of the mosque and shrine, ensuring the preservation of its religious, historical, cultural, and archaeological identity, in line with Al Mawaddah Foundation's efforts for the integrated development of the surrounding community. The restoration and development work included the mosque's nave, its annexes and facilities, the exterior facades, the dome, the minaret, the shrine, and the outer courtyard. This contributed to restoring the mosque and shrine's splendor and magnificence, ensuring their cleanliness and maintenance, and providing all means for their revitalization and to make them a beacon of enlightenment in their surroundings and the entire region.
The inauguration was attended by Mr. Sayed Mahmoud El-Sherif, Head of the Syndicate of Ashraf; Dr. Abdel Hadi El Qasabi - General Sheikhdom of Sufi Orders; and from the Ministry of Awqaf, Dr. El Sayed Abdel Bari - Head of the Religious Sector; Major General Mohamed Iraqi - Assistant Minister for Engineering Affairs; Dr. Mohamed Ragab Khalifa - Head of the Central Administration for Daawah Affairs; Dr. Hisham Abdel Aziz- Head of the Political Liaison Group; and Dr. Khaled Salah - Manager of Cairo Awqaf Directorate. Also present were Mr. Ashraf Mansour - Deputy Governor of Cairo for the Southern District; Counselor Dr. Samir Gawad – Secretary - General and Founder of Al Mawaddah Foundation for Development and Improvement; Mr. Ahmed El Garhi - Founder of the Foundation; and a number of representatives from the Ministries of Awqaf and Antiquities, Cairo Governorate, and Al Mawaddah Foundation.
The attendees watched a presentation showcasing the mosque's condition before and after the renovations. This was followed by a segment featuring young tour guides and broadcasters, including children Menna and Abdel Rahman, who presented several introductory concepts through a dialogue, introducing Al Sayyida Aisha Mosque, Ahl Al Bayt in general, and Egypt's role in embracing them. Students from the Faculty of Archaeology participated in the project, which was implemented as part of the preservation efforts of the monument, under the supervision of the Ministry of Antiquities. The Minister of Awqaf thanked Al Mawaddah Foundation, Cairo Governor, and the Arab Contractors Company for their efforts in the development and restoration work. He emphasized the Ministry's full support for projects related to the construction and maintenance of mosques, particularly those associated with Ahl Al Bayt.
