Dr. Assem El Gazzar - Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, and Dr. Mohamed Hani Ghoneim - Governor of Beni Suef, inaugurated the reconstruction project of "Youth of Egypt Exhibition" in Beni Suef, in the presence of ministry and governorate officials, the Central Agency for Reconstruction, Eng. Ahmed El Assar – CEO and Chairman of the Arab Contractors Company, Eng. Hossam El Din El Rifi - Senior Vice-Chairman, and Eng. Hassan Moustafa and Eng. Tarek Khader – AC Board Members.
Dr. Assem El-Gazzar explained that the Ministry of Housing, represented by the Central Agency for Reconstruction, through the Central and Upper Egypt Construction Agency, which financed and supervised the implementation of the project that was exposed to a fire on Sunday, May 14, 2023, resulted in the burning of all components. The Arab Contractors Company implemented the project in implementation of the directives of the political leadership and as a gift from the Ministry of Housing to the owners of the shops in the exhibition.
The Minister of Housing indicated that the political leadership also directed that the project to establish the Youth of Egypt Exhibition in Beni Suef be considered a model that could be applied in other governorates to provide job opportunities for young people, explaining that the implementation took 40 days and cost LE 40 million. The project includes more than 100 stores with different areas (10–20 square meters), a control and monitoring room, toilets, in addition to the ventilation and smoke removal systems, the firefighting and water supply systems, and the landscaping.
The Minister of Housing and the Governor of Beni Suef toured the project site, and listened to a detailed explanation of the implementation phases. The Minister thanked the Central Agency for Reconstruction, the Arab Contractors Company, the Project Consultant, and everyone who shared in the implementation of this important project for the youth of Beni Suef, which was accomplished in record time and high quality, and safety factors from future fires were taken into account.
During his meeting with a number of young people and citizens who rented the shops at the exhibition, Dr. Mohamed Hani Ghoneim - Governor of Beni Suef, expressed his appreciation to those in charge of implementing the project, thanking the Ministry of Housing, the Central Agency for Reconstruction, the Arab Contractors Company, and all the project workers, including engineers, workers, technicians, and administrators, for their efforts that resulted in the completion of the project in record time.
The Governor of Beni Suef confirmed that the state, with all its agencies and institutions, is always biased towards its citizens, and does not delay in providing support and assistance, especially in times of crises and challenges. He expressed his thanks and great appreciation to His Excellency President El Sisi, for his immediate response and his directives to quickly relieve the burden of the affected youth and support them to overcome the repercussions and effects of that painful incident.
The inauguration was attended by Eng. Sayed Hassan - Member of the Executive Board of the Arab Contractors Company, and Eng. Hesham Safwat – Manager of North Upper Egypt Branch, the project supervisor, and the project's engineers and workers.
