Dr. Ashraf Sobhi – the Minister of Youth and Sport and Eng. Hany Abo Rida - President of the Egyptian Football Association and the Head of the Organizing Committee inspected the ongoing preparation and upgrading works at the Cairo International Stadium for hosting the 2019 African Cup of Nations (AFCON 2019) which will be in Egypt by next June. This was in the presence of Major Gen. Aly Darweesh – Head of Cairo Stadium Authority, Eng. Emam Afify – the Vice Chairman of the Arab Contractors Company, Mr. Hossam El Din Imam - the Vice Chairman of the Arab Contractors Company, Eng. Sayed Shendi– Head of Greater Cairo Sector and a number of the company leaders. The Minister and his companions toured the VIP cabin which was developed and completed, in addition to the development of the roads surrounding the Cairo Stadium and the new changing rooms. The Minister inspected the stadium playground which was finalized and will be followed up to be on its brightful image on the launching of the championship; besides the installation of numbered seats, the decoration for the entrance to the VIP cabin, the change of the stadium gate, upgrading the lighting, developing the Wi-Fi network inside the stadium and the media area. Besides, he inspected the infrastructure works in general especially water and wastewater.
