On the 11th of April 2007, Eng. Ahmad Nazif Prime Minister, Eng. Ahmad Maghraby Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Development, Dr. Mahmoud Abu Zaid Minister of Water Resources and Irregation, Eng. Mohamed Mansour Minister of Transportation, General Abdel Salam Mahgoub Minister of Local Devolopment, Dr. Hany Helal Minister of Higher Education, Dr. Hatem El Gabali Minister of Health accompanied by General Al Shafie Al Dakrori Gharbeya Governor inaugurated the Zefta Navigation Lock. In the presence of Eng. Ibrahim Mahlab – Chairman of the AC and AC Board members.
Declared that the Navigation Lock Project aims to connect Damietta port to Cairo and Upper Egypt thus increasing River Transportation traffic to decrease traffic on road networks and Railroad Networks ,the project value was 107 Million EGP.
