Esna Navigation Lock - Egypt

The project consists of the construction of the 17m wide, 221m long and 14.6m depth navigation vent. The lock body consists of seven Joints, 20.6m long each. The front entrance is 32m long while the back entrance is 29.3m in length. Our scope includes also the construction of a bridge that rests over the lock wall. Filling and emptying the lock is carried out using four automatic gates. The control tower manages the operational activities which takes around 6min for filling and emptying the lock. The lock is constructed using diaphragm walls with a depth of up to 40m. The client of the project is the Reservoir and Grand Barrages Sector of the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation
