The project consists of 18 grain storage cells, with a total capacity of 90,000 tons of grain for the season. Each cell accommodates 5 thousand tons of wheat. It is one of the largest silos in the Republic. The project includes an electronic control unit that manages the entire project with the latest technology and modern technology, which includes:
- Fumigation system and stock temperature control.
- Fire fighting system and wireless system.

The silo is a facility equipped to store and circulate grains for long periods and without waste, in a mechanical way that achieves the most appropriate method for storing and circulating grains, which is one of the most important strategic commodities for countries. It also achieves a strategic stock for countries for long periods of time, which helps in achieving food security and the independence of political decision for the state.
The system, which is implemented in the project, was chosen from among the various storage systems for grain, in order to comply with the conditions and needs of the Arab Republic of Egypt at the present time, to achieve the project’s goal in the fastest time and at the lowest material cost, without neglecting to take into account the highest methods and techniques of silo construction in the world.

Operation Method :-
The car-loaded wheat is unloaded into the car pit after the weighing process.
The dust is separated by the dust separation unit.
Any metal objects are separated by magnets.
Wheat is lifted through 4 elevators to the upper belts.
The wheat is distributed in the cells according to the storage capacity of each cell by means of the upper belts and with the help of sensors located inside the cells to determine the available capacity.
The cells are equipped with incense burners to kill fungi and bacteria.
The cells are unloaded as needed through the lower belts located inside the tunnels under the cells.
The cells are unloaded by the unloading cells in the loading cars.
