The Arab Contractors Company hosted Africa Day celebration, in cooperation with the Egyptian African Businessmen Association, at the Arab Contractors Sporting Club, in the presence of a group of African ambassadors, representatives of the diplomatic corps, Egyptian and African businessmen, and representatives of more than 40 African countries. The ceremony was attended by Ambassador Mohamed Karim Sherif - Assistant Foreign Minister for African Affairs, Dr. Mohamadou Labarang - Ambassador of the Republic of Cameroon to Egypt and Dean of the African Diplomatic Corps, Eng. Mohamed Elwy and Eng. Hassan Ibraheem- Board Members of the Arab Contractors Company, Dr. Yosri El Sharkawy - Chairman of the Egyptian- African Businessmen Association (EABA), and Eng. Amani Khodeir -Head of Africa Projects Follow-up Sector at the Arab Contractors. In his speech delivered on behalf of Eng. Ahmed El Assar - Chairman of the Arab Contractors Company, Eng. Mohamed Elwy – AC Board Member, affirmed the company’s pride in participating in the celebration of Africa Day, welcoming the company’s distinguished guests, and noting that the company has long and extensive relations with the countries of the continent for more than 6 decades, during which it has contributed to the implementation of many development and strategic projects, which support development efforts and enhance cooperation and integration between African countries, stressing the company’s continued commitment to supporting the path of construction and development and achieving a more prosperous future for the peoples of the continent. Ambassador Mohamed Karim Sherif - Assistant Foreign Minister for African Affairs affirmed that Africa Day is a significant occasion that embodies the deep historical ties that bind Egypt to the countries of the continent. He pointed to Egypt's longstanding role in supporting joint African action and strengthening the path of unity and integration among African nations. He also emphasized the Egyptian Foreign Ministry's continued support for joint cooperation and development efforts, praising the efforts of African embassies in bolstering economic and investment relations between Egypt and the countries of the continent. For his part, Dr. Mohamadou Labarang - Ambassador of the Republic of Cameroon to Egypt explained that achieving progress in Africa is linked to strengthening unity and integration among its countries and relying on African capabilities in implementing development projects. He praised the role played by the Arab Contractors Company in supporting development efforts on the continent, stressing that it represents a successful model of African cooperation and a reliable partner in implementing infrastructure and development projects in a number of African countries. During the celebration, he pointed out that the Arab Contractors Company is an integral part of the development journey in the continent, noting that the company’s name has remained present in the African consciousness for decades, and that its achievements spanning a wide range of countries and sectors. He explained that the countries of the continent witnessed the implementation of many projects that bore the imprint of Arab Contractors, which made it a reliable partner in construction and development efforts, stressing that the presence of representatives of African countries at the celebration reflects their appreciation for the role that the company plays in serving the continent. He praised the partnerships that link the company with various African countries, describing it as one of the builders of Africa, given its effective contribution to the implementation of infrastructure and development projects. He noted that Cameroon’s experience with the company confirms its ability to implement projects with high efficiency, pointing out that it has always proven to be a reliable partner, especially in projects that require significant technical and executive expertise. Dr. Yosri El Sharkawy - Chairman of the Egyptian- African Businessmen Association (EABA) stressed the importance of strengthening economic cooperation and integration among the countries of the continent, and supporting the role of the private sector in driving development and investment efforts, noting that the association continues to work on strengthening economic partnerships and opening new horizons for cooperation among African business communities. On the sidelines of the celebration, a documentary film about the Arab Contractors Company and its pioneering role in Africa was shown, which reviewed the company’s projects and its long history that extends for more than 60 years, amid praise from the attendees. At the conclusion of the ceremony, the Arab Contractors Company honored Ambassador Mohamed Karim Sherif - Assistant Foreign Minister for African Affairs, Dr. Mohamadou Labarang - Ambassador of the Republic of Cameroon to Egypt, and Dr. Yosri El Sharkawy - Chairman of the Egyptian-African Businessmen Association (EABA); while the EABA presented its commemorative shield to the Arab Contractors Company, in appreciation of the prominent role it plays in implementing development and infrastructure projects in various African countries.
