The Tanzanian Embassy in Cairo celebrated the 62nd anniversary of the Union Day with the participation of Arab Contractors

The embassy organized an official celebration to mark the occasion, under the auspices of Ambassador Richard Mkanzo - Tanzania's Ambassador to Egypt. The event was attended by high-level diplomats and officials, including Ambassador Mohamadou Labarang - Dean of African Ambassadors, the Ambassador of Cameroon, several other African ambassadors, Ambassador Mohamed Abu Bakr - Deputy Foreign Minister for African Affairs, Ambassador Karim Sherif - Assistant Foreign Minister for African Affairs, and the Tanzanian Deputy Minister of Energy. The event was also attended by Eng. Wael Hamdy - Vice President of Elsewedy Electric Group and CEO of the Engineering and Construction Sector; Dr. Eng. Ahmed El Adlany - Board Member of the Arab Contractors Company, and a company delegation including Eng. Amani Khodeir - Head of Africa Projects Follow-up Sector, Eng. Rehab Yahia - Manager of the Chairman's Office, Eng. Lubna Shatla – Manager of Business Development, Strategic Studies, and Marketing Department; and Eng. Youssef Hamdeen - Civil Works Manager for Julius Nyerere Dam Project. The ceremony highlighted the growing economic cooperation between Egypt and Tanzania, particularly in the energy and infrastructure sectors. Julius Nyerere Dam project stands out as one of the most important strategic projects implemented by the JV of the Arab Contractors and Elsewedy Electric, which is scheduled for official inauguration soon. The project represents a significant leap forward, with a production capacity of approximately 2115 MW. This opens up broad prospects for improving the quality of life for Tanzanian citizens by supporting essential services and promoting comprehensive development. The dam also contributes to consolidating Tanzania’s position as a promising and attractive destination for regional and international investments, reflecting the depth of the strategic partnership between Cairo and Dar es Salaam and establishing a new phase of sustainable development cooperation. The participants emphasized in their speeches the depth of the historical relations between Egypt and Tanzania, and the aspiration for more joint cooperation in various fields during the next phase. #tanzania_union_day #ArabContractors
