Assiut Governor lays the foundation stone for a new car bridge over the railway in Sadat area

Major Gen. Mohamed Elwan - Assiut Governor laid the foundation stone for a new road bridge over the railway in Sadat area. The bridge will connect the western and eastern parts of Assiut city, as part of the state's plan to develop infrastructure, enhance comprehensive development efforts, and improve services for citizens. This initiative coincides with Assiut Governorate's 227th National Day celebrations, which commemorate the victory of the people of Bani Adiyat village over the French campaign in 1799. The ceremony was attended by Eng. Essam Abdel Zaher - Undersecretary of the Ministry of Housing; Mr. Mamdouh Gabr - Head of West Assiut District, Mr. Abu El Ayoun Ibrahim - Head of East Assiut District, Eng. Ahmed Abdel Fattah - Head of Sector and Manager of Assiut Branch of the Arab Contractors Company; Eng. Moustafa Ahmed Abdullah - Projects Manager at Assiut Branch, Dr. Hassan Younis - Professor of Highway Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering, Assiut University; and members of the Parliament and the Senate. The project aims to connect Sadat area in the Western District of Assiut with Al Tahakom Al Markzy Street and Ezzat Galal Street in the Eastern District. The first phase of the project will be a 600-meter-long, 6-meter-wide road in one direction. It is being implemented by the Arab Contractors Company in cooperation with the Center for Engineering Studies and Consultations at the Faculty of Engineering, Assiut University. The project represents a significant step towards achieving a direct traffic link between the east and west of the city, which will contribute to alleviating traffic congestion, especially around the railway station, particularly during peak hours. It will also reduce daily travel times, improve the efficiency and flow of traffic, increase the capacity of the road network, and reduce pressure on existing routes. Furthermore, the project supports economic and urban development efforts and contributes to reducing fuel consumption and emissions. The project's implementation must be expedited, with full adherence to technical specifications and standards, according to the time schedule to ensure maximum benefit from the project.
