His Excellency Hakainde Hichilema - President of the Republic of Zambia received Ambassador Mayada Essam – Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to the Republic of Zambia, Eng. Ahmed El Assar – Chairman of the Arab Contractors Company, and their accompanying delegation included Eng. Mohamed Elwi - Board Member of the Arab Contractors Company, and Eng. Ahmed Mahmoud - Head of Sector supervising studies for Zambian projects. This comes within the framework to follow-up on the outcomes of the Zambian President’s visit to Cairo in February 2025, during which 3 memoranda of understanding were signed between the Arab Contractors Company and the Zambian Ministry of Infrastructure, which include the implementation of 10 infrastructure projects. Ambassador Mayada Essam emphasized on President Abdel Fattah El Sisi’s directives to promote cooperation with Zambia in different fields through specific projects, including infrastructure, building and construction, as these are among the most important pillars of development. She explored the practical steps achieved over the months following the presidential visit in the fields of health and pharmaceutical, agriculture, livestock and fisheries, water resources management, energy, and renewable energy. Eng. Ahmed El Assar – Chairman of the Arab Contractors Company explored the company’s extensive experience in implementing major projects in Egypt and Africa, particularly in the fields of roads and bridges, airports, water and sewage plants, governmental buildings, and vital utilities. He confirmed the Arab Contractors’ readiness to contribute to the implementation of strategic projects in Zambia, in accordance with the country’s plan for sustainable development and infrastructure improvement. The Zambian President expressed his great appreciation to the Egyptian President and his efforts to achieve development in Egypt and support stability in the region. He expressed his happiness with the results of his recent visit to Cairo and keenness to follow up on the implementation of the projects agreed upon during that visit, thus the Egyptian-Zambian cooperation can serve as a model for African integration. Besides; He expressed his welcome for promoting cooperation with the Egyptian companies, praising the competence of the Arab Contractors Company with its long history, excellent reputation in Africa, and its distinguished role in supporting development and infrastructure in several countries.
