Hassaballah El Kafrawy Axis Extension... A new artery crossing the Nile

As part of the periodic follow-up on one of the projects, Eng. Heba Abo Elala - Vice Chairman of the Arab Contractors Company, and Brig. Gen. Yasser Hendawy, Deputy Director of Construction, Military Engineers Department, visited the 3rd of July Axis, where the Arab Contractors Company, under the supervision of the Engineering Authority of the Armed Forces, represented by the Military Engineers Department, is implementing the 3rd of July Axis intersection bridge project over the Nile River, in light of the national projects that the state is implementing to facilitate traffic movement for citizens inside Cairo. Hassaballah El Kafrawy Axis (3rd of July Axis) extends from Zahraa Al Maadi to Aswan Agricultural Road. The scope of work of the Arab Contractors Company includes Linking the area east of the Nile from Maadi Corniche next to the Military Works House to Aswan Agricultural Road, passing over the Nile River to facilitate movement and link between Cairo and Giza with the length of the bridge, which reaches 1200 meters and interspersed with 400 linear meters above the Nile River with a width ranging from 46 meters to 52 meters for the main body. The execution period is 36 months. The project is being implemented using various structural elements, including concrete beams, box sections, metal beams, and Cantilever carriages, with a total concrete volume of 140,000 m3 and 37,000 tons of steel. Besides, it includes 452 bored piles with lengths up to 50 meters, 172 Nile piles with lengths up to 60 meters, 132 foundations and columns for the bridge, with heights reaching 12 meters, 16 foundations for the ramp, with 20 columns reaching heights of up to 10 meters, 310 concrete beams, including 16 pre-stressed beams, 8 box sections for the bridge and 2 pre-stressed box sections , 96 Cantilever carriages over the Nile River, 50 concrete frames for the bridge and 2 concrete frames over the Nile River and 16 metal beams with a total weight of 1800 tons. In addition to these, the project is regularly monitored to identify the most important developments and emphasize the importance of adhering to occupational health and safety within the project, as these are among the most important factors for its success. This also includes adhering to the time schedule and working on all project axes and sectors in parallel to ensure rapid performance and completion.
