President Abdel Fattah El Sisi inaugurated through the video conference a number of the national projects, one of them is El Mahmoudia Water Purification Plant. The project is executed by Alexandria Branch of the Arab Contractors Company with a total cost 225 million EGP including the plant and the network works. This was in the presence of Dr. Moustafa Madbouli – the Prime Minister and the Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities and a number of the ministers and officials.
Major General Hesham Amena – Beheira Governor declared that the project objective is to have a great transformation regarding the improvement of the water pressure, get rid of the low and cut off water in the outskirts of the villages in 5 centers which is El Mahmoudia – El Rahmania – Rasheed – Damnhour – Abou Homos. He confirmed that these works is due to President El Sisi's keenness to support and maintain the services and development projects in El Beheira to release the burdens of the citizens and facilitate their life. It is a noteworthy that the plant is built upon 16 feddans with a capacity of 86000m3/day. The project scope of works including the water intake – turbid water line – 4 clarifiers – a distribution well - filters building which contains 10 filters – 2 ground tanks – sludge removal – drying basins – filtered water ward – sludge concentration – transformers – generation – workshop – landscaping – external fence in addition to the water transmission lines with a length of 57km.
