Iraqi Minister of Municipalities and Public Works Witnesses the Signing of Water Desalination Plant in Basrah Worth 270 million Euro

Iraqi Minister of Municipalities and Public Works Eng. Adil Mhuder and Eng. Sheirf Habib – Vice President of the AC, on behalf of Eng. Mohsen Salah – AC Chairman, Ambassadors from Egypt, France and Japan attendeing the celebration of the signing of the mega Water Desalination Plant in Basrah - Iraq (P4), with a total capacity 199,000m³/day. It is a consortium between the AC, Hitachi "Japanese company" and OTV "French company" with a total cost 270 million Euro. The project is financed by the Iraqi Government. Eng. Sherif Habib stated that the project (P4) is one of the mega desalination projects in Iraq built on Shatt El Arab – Basrah; its execution period is 30 months. The AC has been awarded this project which was one of lots bidded by the Iraqi Government. The rest of lots (P2 and P3) will be awarded on the next March.
