On Wednesday 11th June 2009, Dr. Ahmed Nazif - Prime Minister touring the Greater Cairo Metro Line III work progress in Abbassia. Its inaugration will be on October 2011. In the presences of the ministers of housing, transport, finance, economic development and local development - Cairo and Giza governors - Eng. Ibrahim Mahlab, President and CEO of the Arab Contractors and Eng. Atta Al-Sherbini, Chairman of the National Authority For Tunnels. It is noteworthy that 70% of the total civil works of the first phase executed, including 5 underground stations: (Abbassia - Abdou Pasha - Al Geesh - Bab Al-Shiaaria - Attaba.)
