On Wednesday 15th October 2008, President Mubarak inaugurated New Additional Esna Navigation Lock in Qena which contributes in the development of tourism between Luxor and Aswan and serve the industrial and trading purposes. Ahmed El Maghrabi – Minister of Housing, Utilities & Urban Development, Dr. Mahmoud Abu Zeid - Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation, Dr. Hassan Younis – Minister of Electricity and Energy, Dr. Osman Mohammed Osman – Minister of Economic Development, Eng. Mohammed Mansour - Minister of Transport, General Mohammed Abdul Salam Al Mahgoub - Minister of State for Local Development, General Magdy Ayoub - Governor of Qena and Eng.
