His Highness Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the Prince of Kuwait inaugurated Jaber Al-Ahmad Hospital which is considered the mega hospital in the Middle East and Africa; and the Sixth of the mega international hospitals worldwide. It is the lighthouse for education, training of the medical cadres and providing the medical services for more than 600000 persons. The Arab Contractors Company executed the hospital with a total cost 304 million KWD. The inauguration ceremony was attended by His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Marzouq Aly Al-Ghanim – Head of Kuwait National Assembly, Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamd Al-Sabah – the Prime Minister, Dr. Basel Al-Sabah - the Minister of Health and the senior officials of the state.
Eng. Mohsen Salah – the Chairman and CEO of the Arab Contractors Company said that the hospital is considered as a world-wide medical facility, it has been built on a total area of 720 thousand meters. The total amount of the concrete used in its execution reached 650 thousands m3. The number of the project’s workers is 13 thousands engineers, technicians and workers which figuring out the need for an accurate system and modern methods to manage this mega project. Eng. Mohsen pointed out that nowadays and according to the instructions of the Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to regain the leading role of Egypt in the Middle East and Africa in the different fields and his care about the participation of the Egyptian companies in the building and construction in the Arab and African countries, therefore the Arab Contractors Company is keen to increase its existence and having new markets to export the contracting industry and contribute into the development of the Arab and African countries. The Chairman of the Arab Contractors Company stated that the hospital includes 4 buildings built upon 230 thousands m2 provided with the latest medical services and equipped with the modern medical equipment on the international level in the different fields. The hospital is comprising the followings: 1,168 beds, 36 operating rooms, many different clinics for diversified specialties, 4 labs for heart catheterization, 4 labs for magnetic resonance, 4 labs for CT scan, a building for administrative services, VIP suites, the patients care services, the diagnosis and treatment building, the injuries center and the dental center includes 65 clinics. In addition to theses, there are the examination rooms and its labs which equipped with the latest equipment worldwide, lecture room accommodates 300 seats for presentations, lectures and different training. Besides, the hospital includes the housing for the nurses which accommodates 208 hotel units, a medical mall and a gymnasium. The hospital has 6 gates, 3 Helicopters landing platforms; a car parking accommodates more than 3000 car.
The Arab Contractors Company has executed the hospital according to the international standards for hospital and was honored by the Excellence Award in 2017 from the American Concrete Institute “ACI”. Eng. Mohsen Salah emphasized that the Kuwaiti Market is one of the giant markets in the construction field. He added that the AC implemented many projects and has other ongoing projects in roads, bridges and housing. The AC is welcomed in terms of the distinguished strong Egyptian-Kuwaiti bilateral relation and their common destiny.
