Minister of Culture Toured Aisha Fahmy Palace

The Minister of Culture toured Aisha Fahmy's Palace in Zamalek to follow-up the development and restoration of this project and its inauguration before the end of 2013. The project cost is EGP 25 million, the project starting date was in 2010. The total work amount is about 60% including: strengthen of the basement, ceiling, slabs, walls injection; restoration of the weaving works, ornaments, floors, wood, stained glass, and paintings – all these works executed by specialists from the Monument Restoration Department in the Arab Contractors Company.

The palace was established in 1907, designed by Antonio Lasciac, its total space is 270m² including 30 rooms, 2 halls, basement and roof. The most dominant rooms are the Japanese and billiard rooms. Its walls coated with silk. The palace ceiling and walls are decorated with Fresco paintings.
