On Saturday 21st November 2009, President Mubarak inaugurated Shura Council and its historical halls, after the completion of the restoration and development works, to stand as historical evidence on the democracy process in Egypt. In the presence of Prime Minister Dr. Ahmed Nazif, Dr. Ahmed Fathi Sorour - the Speaker of the People's Assembly, Mr. Safwat El-Sherif, Chairman of the Shura Council, Eng. Ahmed El Maghrabi – Minister of Housing, Utilities & Urban Development , a group of the Egyptian ministers and Eng. Ibrahim Mahlab – President and CEO of the Arab Contractors Company.
