On Wednesday 24th September 2008, Mr. Safwat El-Sherif, Chairman of the Shura Council, stated that the workers of the Arab Contractors company gave lessons in nationalism to the gloaters concerning the fire of the Shura Council and emphasized that the council will be better than before. It was stated during the first meeting of the General Committee of the Shura Council after the fire. Eng. Ibrahim Mahlab, Chairman and CEO of the Arab Contractors Company provide a detailed report about the executed and current rehabilitation works of the Shura Council. It is noteworthy that after putting out the fire, the Arab Contractors Company lifting of the waste which amounted to 10000m? entirely from the main hall, moving the main seats to the company workshops for the renovation works, building a new hanging ceil according to the latest engineering systems including electrical works, air-conditioning and alarming. The Arab Contractors Company put into consideration the restoration and construction works and keeping upon the historical structure of the building for its historical value in the parliamentary life.
