On Wednesday 17th September 2008, President Mubarak inaugurates El-Dekheila Port in Alexanderia. The project executed within a tight schedule of 18 months, its total cost is EGP 355 million. In the presence of Prime Minister Dr. Ahmed Nazif, General Mohammed Hussein Tantawi - Minister of Defence and Military Production, Eng. Mohammed Mansour - Minister of Transport, Dr. Osman Mohammed Osman – Minister of Economic Development, Dr. Ali Moselhi - Minister of Social Solidarity, Eng. Rashid Mohammed Rashid - Minister of Trade and Industry, General Adel Labib - Governor of Alexandria, Eng. Ibrahim Mahlab - Chairman and CEO of the Arab Contractors Company and General Tawfik Abu Gendya - Chairman of the National Authority of Alexandria and El-Dekheila Ports.It is noteworthy that the Arab Contractors Company -represented by Alexanderia Branch - carried out the whole project. The project is including the construction of rainwater drain, wastewater, fire-fighting networks. Besides, telephone lines, high/medium/low pressure lines, road works 30km long, goods entrances and exits built upon 65000m. In addition to the construction of logistic buildings, electronic areas and service buildings for the port workers.
