Maasara Shipyard built about 70 floating hotels, 5 stars restaurant, barges, river buses, floating units, yachts, launches and tugs. Besides, the department exported a river bus to Germany to be used in Rhine River and 4 river buses to Sudan.
The department owns a vessels crane (capacity 1600 tons) which considered one of a kind in the River Nile starting from Cairo reaching Aswan. Two years later a new vessels crane erected in Armant City. Moreover, Maasara Shipyard has maritime workshops on Nasser Lake in front of the High Dam to build and serve the maritime units there. Besides, it serves the steel works in the South Valley. 4 touristic floating hotels, self-propelled barges and maritime units were built on the lake.
