Dr. Sayed Ismail - Deputy Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, held a meeting to follow up on the implementation status of the second phase of the Sustainable Rural Sanitation Services Program Projects in Sharqia. The meeting was in the presence of Eng. Ahmed Gaber - Chairman of the Holding Company for Water and Wastewater; Eng. Hassan Mustafa - Senior Vice Chairman of the Arab Contractors Company; Eng. Mohamed Lashin – AC Executive Board Member; representatives from the Project Management Unit (PMU) at the Ministry of Housing; and representatives from the Project Implementation Unit at Sharqia Water and Wastewater Company.
During the meeting, they explored the implementation status of Kafr Dabous Wastewater Project, being carried out by the Arab Contractors Company in Sharqia. The project consists of networks, pumping stations, and force mains serving 10 rural areas (villages and surroundings). They discussed the challenges facing the project's implementation, the technical solutions and the timeline to ensure the rapid commissioning of the wastewater treatment plant, which is nearing completion.
The Deputy Minister emphasized the importance of completing the project according to the agreed schedule, establishing a weekly time schedule to monitor progress by all parties.
It is worth noting that the second phase of the Sustainable Rural Sanitation Services Program funded by the World Bank and the Asian Bank, targets 6 governorates: Dakahlia, Sharqia, Beheira, and Gharbia.
