The training program for a number of Zambian engineers was recently launched in the capital, Lusaka. This comes within the framework of the Arab Contractors Company’s strategy to transfer expertise to our brothers in African countries, and in light of the follow-up of the outcomes of the visit of His Excellency President Hakainde Hichilema - President of the Republic of Zambia, to Cairo last February, and his meeting with Eng. Ahmed El Assar - Chairman of the Arab Contractors Company, which discussed mechanisms for building the technical and engineering capabilities of Zambian cadres.
The opening ceremony of the training program was attended by Mr. Charles Milupi - Zambian Minister of Infrastructure, Housing and Urban Development, accompanied by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Zambia Myada Esaam, the Deputy Ambassador of Egypt, and Eng. Ahmed Mahmoud - Manager of the Arab Contractors Company Branch in Zambia.
The implementation of this program comes within the framework of the company's initiative to enhance the technical and engineering capacity of Zambian personnel, transfer Egyptian expertise in the fields of infrastructure and construction, and implement best practices in project management, ensuring the sustainability of development projects through the qualification of local personnel.
The Egyptian Ambassador praised the pivotal role of the Arab Contractors, one of the longstanding Egyptian and African companies in supporting development efforts in Zambia. She emphasized that this program embodies Egypt's commitment to enhancing human capacity building as a pillar of sustainable development and reflects the two countries' shared vision for strengthening bilateral relations and achieving comprehensive and sustainable development, particularly in the field of infrastructure.
The Zambian Minister of Infrastructure, Housing and Urban Development praised the distinguished partnership with Arab Contractors, stressing that the workshop represents a practical step towards implementing the memoranda of understanding signed between the two sides. He also affirmed the Zambian side's commitment to implementing all other outcomes of the agreement, and praised the high competence of the Egyptian trainers, who will contribute to raising the performance level of Zambian personnel according to the latest international standards of quality and safety.
