The Arab Contractors Company, through its Shipyard in Aswan, successfully launched the floating hotel “Omar El Khayyam” into Lake Nasser using airbags. The hotel, owned by Travco Tourism, is the largest hotel in terms of size and weight undergoing maintenance at the company’s Shipyard in Aswan, weighing approximately 4,000 tons.
This event is being held under the supervision of the Ministry of Transport, represented by the River Transport Authority (RTA), and as a continuity of the company’s earlier success in lifting the same hotel using air bags which is an innovative and safe engineering solution that ensures the highest standards of safety and quality in lifting and launching of floating units.
Omar El Khayyam floating hotel is 115 meters long, 16.2 meters wide, and 16 meters high, making it the largest floating hotel on Lake Nasser.
