On Thursday,10th July 2025, Dr. Badr Abdel Aaty - Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration, received Eng. Sherif El Sherbiny - Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities. This was in the presence of Eng. Ahmed El Assar - Chairman of the Arab Contractors Company. The meeting comes as part of promoting coordination between the ministries of foreign affairs and housing to strengthen ties with the African continent.
The meeting explored ways to support development projects in the African countries, in light of the continent’s promising potentials and opportunities. Besides, emphasizing on the importance of maximizing the benefits from the Egyptian wide spectrum expertise particularly in construction, infrastructure, and the implementation of major projects to support African countries. The two ministers discussed the success achieved by the Egyptian companies in several African countries, including the implementation of Julius Nyerere Dam project in Tanzania, which represents a model of African-African cooperation and an example of the ability to contribute effectively to supporting strategic infrastructure projects on the continent.
They also discussed mechanisms for promoting Egyptian investment opportunities in the housing and utilities sectors. They emphasized the importance of continued coordination between the two ministries on various issues, enhancing Egypt’s role and contributing to achieving sustainable development in Africa in accordance with the directives of President Abdel Fattah Sisi to support openness and cooperation with sister African countries.
