As part of the celebrations of the 12th anniversary of the glorious June 30 Revolution, Eng. Abdel Mottaleb Emara - Governor of Luxor inaugurated the first project of the presidential initiative "Decent Life" in Esna, south of the governorate. The inauguration of El Nemsa Wastewater Plant, which includes two pumping stations: "Main El Nemsa" and "Intermediate El Nemsa", was implemented by the Arab Contractors Company.
The opening ceremony was attended by Major Gen. Ahmed Ramadan - Chairman of Luxor Water and Wastewater Company; Eng. Ruqayya Hammad - Head of the Construction Authority for Potable Water and Wastewater in Luxor, Eng. Ali Sadek - Head of Esna City and Centre; and Eng. Abdullah Bakri – Construction Manager at the Authority, in addition to a number of leaders and residents of the villages of El Nemsa, Al Masawiya, and South Esna.
The opening was in the presence of Yasser Mahsoub - Head of South Valley and Red Sea Sector at the Arab Contractors Company “the contractor”, Eng. Mansour Shehata – Manager of the South Valley Branch, Eng. Ahmed Seddik Abdel Sattar – Manager of Esna Projects, and Eng. Mohamed Ahmed Al Assi – Manager of Luxor Projects at the Electromechanical Works Department at the company.
The project is one of the major projects within the first phase of the national project for developing the Egyptian countryside, "Decent Life". It was implemented under the supervision of the National Authority for Potable Water, at an estimated cost of EGP 320 million approx.
The Governor of Luxor started his tour by inaugurating El Nemsa Main Pumping Station, which consists of a pumping station, an operating room, a 14-meter diameter well, the generator building, the security room, transformer rooms, a warehouse, a fuel tank, and a voltage panels room. Its discharge capacity is 360 liters/sec. via 4 pumping pumps (2 working + 2 reserve), and it serves about 15,000 people from the villages of Al Masawiya, Al Adayma, Jazirat Rajih, Al Daqira, and Komir.
Luxor Governor completed the tour by inaugurating the intermediate El Nemsa Pumping Station, which includes a lifting station, an operating room, a 12-meter diameter well, a generator building, a security room, a warehouse, a transformer room, a fuel tank, and a voltage panels room. Its capacity is 300 liters/sec., via 4 pumps (2 operating + 2 reserve), with a discharge rate of 150 liters/second per pump.
In his speech, Luxor Governor emphasized that El Nemsa Wastewater Station is the first "Decent Life" project to be launched in Esna, noting that wastewater projects are the cornerstone of community development, followed by service projects such as natural gas and road paving.
Luxor Governor paid tribute to President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, stating that Egyptians are reaping the fruits of the nation's greatest development project, the "Decent Life" initiative. He wished the people to unite behind the political leadership.
