Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Industry and Transport inspects preparations for the stations of Cairo Metro Line 4 in the Grand Egyptian Museum area before its openin

Lieutenant General Kamel El Wazir - Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Industry and Transport, inspected Cairo Metro Line 4 Phase 1. The project is being implemented within the framework of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi directives to expand the establishment of green, sustainable, clean, and eco-friendly mass transportation. The Deputy Prime Minister was accompanied by a number of leaders from the Ministry of Transport and the National Authority for Tunnels. The meeting was also attended by Eng. Sayed El Wazir - Vice Chairman of the Arab Contractors Company, Eng. Hassan Ibrahim – Board Member, Eng. Mohamed Abu Deshish - Head of the Sector Supervising CML4 Phase1, Eng. Abeer Morsi - Executive Board Member and Project Manager, and Eng. Ahmed Omar – Manager of the Consortium Implementing the Project. During his tour, the Deputy Prime Minister was briefed on the implementation rates of this phase in which Egyptian national contracting companies are participating: (the Arab Contractors – Concord – Petrojet – Hassan Allam and Orascom). It extends over 19 km and includes 17 stations (16 underground – 1 surface), where the total implementation rate reached 38.6%. Construction work is currently being carried out at the stations and tunneling work for the 2 metro tunnels (one tunnel in each direction) using 4 TBMs(2 machines in each direction), which have been completed by 46%. The Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Industry and Transport also inspected the stations located around the Grand Egyptian Museum, which are being implemented by the Arab Contractors Company, including the Grand Egyptian Museum Station, which has reached 54.7%, and Al Ahram Station reached 43.4%. He explained that 98% of the restoration work in the area surrounding the museum has been completed, the restoration work and external finishing of the stations will be completed before the opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum on July 3.
