The Arab Contractors Rowing Club hosted a cultural celebration of Africa Day, which marks the anniversary of the founding of the African Union. The venue was chosen due to the influential presence of the Arab Contractors Company across Africa. The ceremony was attended by Ambassador Mohamadou Labarang – Ambassador of Cameroon and Dean of African Ambassadors in Cairo, Ambassador Ali Darwish – Ambassador of the African Union to the Arab League, and a number of African ambassadors and members of the African communities in Cairo. This was in the presence of Eng. Heba Abo Elala – Vice Chairman of the Arab Contractors Company, Eng. Mohamed Elwi – AC Board Member, and Eng. Amani Khodeir – Head of Africa Sector. The celebration was also attended by Dr. Yousry El Sharkawy – Chairman of the Egyptian-African Businessmen Association, and Major General Mohamed Mandour – Chairman of the Arab Contractors Utilities Company. During the celebration, Eng. Ahmed El Assar – Chairman of the Arab Contractors Company, was thanked for hosting the celebration at the Arab Contractors Club, given the company’s strong ties with various countries on the African continent. The Dean of African Ambassadors emphasized that a united Africa is a strong Africa, adding that celebrating Africa Day is an opportunity to highlight the continent’s diversity across all sectors, noting the focus on the talents of Africa’s youth. On the banks of the enchanting Nile River, in an atmosphere brimming with joy and happiness, the celebration witnessed the interaction of the people of sister African countries and the magic of diverse African culture. The celebration featured artistic performances by groups from various communities, reflecting the depth of African heritage. The audience witnessed a remarkable cultural diversity, through folkloric performances that blended traditional dances with distinctive musical rhythms. The platform was also decorated with African fashion shows, highlighting cultural symbols that tell the stories of African peoples and their pride in their identity. The countries displayed handicrafts that embodied the ingenuity of African craftsmen, and a special section for diverse African foods, which expressed the unique diversity of African cuisine as well.
