President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi inaugurated the wastewater treatment plant in New Beni Suef within the framework of the state’s interest in infrastructure projects and the provision of health and environmental services, especially wastewater projects.
The Arab Contractors Company, under the supervision of the New Urban Communities Authority and New Beni Suef City Development Authority, implemented the project, which includes 4 phases with a total capacity of 600 liters per second (52 thousand m3/day) and a capacity of 150 liters per second for each phase. The first and second phases of the plant were using the conventional treatment system. As for the third and fourth phases of the plant, the oxidation ditch treatment method was used.
Each of the four phases consists of a primary sedimentation basin, an aeration basin, a final sedimentation basin that serves the two phases, a contact tank, in addition to a sludge condensation basin for the two phases, and 128 drying basins.
