The Minister of Transport and CEO of Siemens Mobility inspects the New Administrative Capital Station

Eng. Kamel El Wazir - Minister of Transport Accompanied by Michael Peter - CEO of Siemens Mobility, head and officials of the National Authority for Tunnels and General Authority for Roads & Bridges and Land Transport, and Eng. Sayed Farouk – CEO and Chairman of the Arab Contractors Company, was on an inspection tour of the New Administrative Capital station of the High Speed Rail project. This came within the framework of preparations and preparations to hand over to Siemens the first 40 km of the first line project for the High Speed Rail (Ain Soukhna / El Alamein / Matrouh / Fayoum) within the scope of the New Administrative Capital station, starting next October to carry out electromechanical works in terms of signals, communications and control systems in this area after the completion of civil works in preparation for the inauguration of the first line project of the High Speed Rail on November 7, according to the directives of the political leadership. The two sides follow up on the progress of the implementation rates of the Capital Station, which is an interchange station with the LRT and is considered a center for various means of transportation coming to the Administrative Capital and serving mainly the New Administrative Capital and the Sports City, as well as all new cities in eastern Cairo, as it is one of the largest stations in the Middle East, its total area is more than 1,100,000 square meters in parking areas and commercial areas. The Minister and CEO of Siemens Mobility also inspected the first sector of the railway bridge, which will be delivered next October to check on the readiness of handing over this sector on time to Siemens to carry out electromechanical works, provided that the rest of the project sectors will be handed over to the company after the completion of the civil works there. They also followed up the timeline for the implementation of the civil works for the various sectors of the project, such as the train bridge works, which include earthworks, foundation works, industrial works and slope concrete, which protect the sides of the bridge, as well as stations and industrial works, which include track bridges and car bridges, which are implemented by the largest national Egyptian specialized companies, in conjunction with the periodic and continuous supervision of the international project consultant, Systra, for all implementation phases of this vital and important project. In press statements, on the sidelines of his tour, the Minister stressed that this inspection tour with the CEO of Siemens Mobility to the work sites embodies the extent of care and great interest on both sides to complete this giant project in accordance with the set time plan and in accordance with the standards that have been agreed upon, especially that the implementation of the High Speed Rail network In cooperation with Siemens, the international company specialized in this field, it represents a clear embodiment and title of the friendship between the Egyptian and German peoples, pointing out that the new system will consist of 3 main lines with a length of 2000 km, and that the High Speed Rail project is a great epic being implemented on the land of Egypt, and that the first line is considered a line similar to Suez Canal in its strategic importance, as it will link the city of Ain Soukhna on the Red Sea and the cities of Alexandria, El Alamein and Matrouh on the Mediterranean Sea with a length of 660 km. Being development arteries serving the new and existing urban and industrial areas, it will contribute to reducing and shortening the travel time between governorates for more than half of the time that the citizen currently takes, whether through the old train network or through the current roads linking the governorates. It also serves the transport of goods between ports and governorates and shortens the time period for transporting these goods.
