Eng. Sayed Farouk – CEO and Chairman of the Arab Contractors Company held a meeting with the company's officials to follow up on the Monorail project, where the company implements the phase extends from 6 October to Giza. Besides, the Company carries out 4 stations at the Monorail Project in the New Administrative Capital under the supervision of the Ministry of Transport and the National Authority for Tunnels. The Chairman was reported about the implementation status of the project. He stressed on pushing forward the work and increasing the implementation rates. It is noteworthy that the project serves the huge expansions in 6th of October City and extends to Giza with 43 km length. It is considered a modern mass transit for the first time in Egypt. The monorail is a railway in which the track consists of a single rail on a straddle concrete beam. It achieves a journey time equal to the time of the car's journey without stopping. It includes 13 stations: New October - Industrial Area – El Saddat – 6 October City Authority – Engineers Association – Nile University – Hyper One – Cairo/Alexandria Desert Road – Bashteel - Mansoureya – Maryotea - Ring Road – Wadi El Nile and the depot near the Industrial Area which has total area of 80 feddans approximately.
