President El Sisi witnesses handing over the certificate of Guinness World Records for Bahr El-Baqar Water Treatment Plant which is the world's largest plant

President El Sisi witnessed the inauguration of Bahr El-Baqar Wastewater Treatment Plant, which is the world's largest plant of its kind. It is implemented by the JV of The Arab Contractors (Osman Ahmed Osman & Co.) and Orascom Construction and under the supervision of the Engineering Authority of the Armed Forces. The plant cost hit EGP 20 billion and its production capacity is 5.6 million cubic meters per day and will provide water to North Sinai territories to help in the reclamation of 400,000 feddans as part of the national development project carried out in Sinai along with enhancing the state's policy for the optimum use of available water resources. Dr. Mostafa Madbouly - Prime Minister, Lieutenant-General Mohamed Zaki - Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and Minister of Defense, Major General Staff Ehab El Far - Head of the Engineering Authority of the Armed Forces, Dr. Mohamed Abdel-Aty - Minister of Irrigation and Water Resources, El Sayed El Qasir - Minister of Agriculture, Dr. Mohamed Shaker - Minister of Electricity, Dr. Nevin Jamea - Minister of Trade and Industry and Eng. Sayed Farouk – CEO & Chairman of the Arab Contractors Company. President Abdel Fattah El Sisi thanked Major General Ihab El-Far and the men of the Engineering Authority of the Armed Forces, after the construction of Bahr El-Baqar Water Treatment Plant. On the other hand, President Abdel Fattah El Sisi witnessed the ceremony of handing over the certificate of Guinness World Records for Bahr El-Baqar Water Treatment Plant to Eng. Sayed Farouk - CEO & Chairman of the Arab Contractors Company, and Chairman of Orascom Construction; It was handed over by Mr. Ahmed Abu Bakr Makled - CEO of the Guinness World Records Coordinating Office in Egypt. 3 certificates were received from Guinness World Records regarding the construction of the largest water treatment and largest sludge treatment plant and the largest single-operator ozone generating plant. The plant in numbers: the largest treatment plant in the world with a capacity of 64.8 m3 / sec., the largest sludge treatment plant with a capacity of 360 kg/sec. and the largest single-operator ozone generating plant with a capacity of 0.1792 kg / sec. The total number of workers in the project is 6500 engineers, technicians and workers; total working hours is 25 million hours. Besides, the use of 6500 piles with an average depth of 45 m., 500000m3 of reinforced concrete, 80000 tons of rebar and 2000 tons of metal structures.
