Within the framework of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi – President of the Arab Republic of Egypt's directives towards the development of Upper Egypt; Dr. Assem El Gazar – the Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities accompanied by Major Gen. Gamal Nour El Din – Assiut Governor inspected number of potable water and wastewater projects among them El Walidya Water Station which serves El Walidya area, 9 neighboring villages, 350.000 person benefit from it, its capacity is 51.000m3/day and total cost 250 million EGP. Besides, they inspected Abnub, El Fath, Bani Morr, El Wadi El Assiuti wastewater project. The project capacity is 82.000m3 (First Phase), total cost 365 million EGP and serves 500.000 person in the cities of El Fath, Abnub, Bani Morr Village and New Assiut City. The Minister stated that his visit is aiming at providing a strong impetus to the work rates of potable water and wastewater projects and other projects within the framework of the Egyptian government's efforts which concentrates in the Upper Egypt governorates to provide all the different services for our people in Upper Egypt according to the highest quality standards. He clarified that the level of water and wastewater services will increase significantly in the coming period. Dr. Assem El Gazar pointed out that the Ministry of Housing is highly concerned with the implementation of different projects in Assiut; through the execution of many water and wastewater projects, the construction of New Assiut City, Nasser City - West of Assiut, road of Assiut Plateau which is very important development project and will have a huge development returns in the governorate in the coming period. He stated that the plans and time schedules were settled to implement the suspended projects. Major Gen. Gamal Nour El Din – Assiut Governor thanked the Minister of Housing for his exerted efforts to boost the work in the different projects in the governorate; he declared that the new cities in Assiut, Assiut Plateau project which is considered a huge engineering work and the other projects which is carried out by the Ministry of Housing in the governorate is a paradigm shift will change the architectural and development form in the governorate. Dr. Assem El Gazar was accompanied during his visit with officials from the Ministry of Housing and the governorate, Eng. Sayed Farouk – Senior Vice Chairman of the Arab Contractors Company, Eng. Tarek Saqr – AC Board Member, Eng. Mofida Allam – the Roads Consultant in the AC and Supervisor of the Laboratory and Development Sector, Eng. Samir Saad Allah – Member of the AC's Executive Board, Eng. Hossam El Nozahy – Head of Assiut and Upper Egypt Sector and Dr. Maher Abdel Tawab – Manager of Assiut Branch which is carrying out the works.
