The Arab Contractors Company under the auspicious of Eng. Mohsen Salah – CEO and Chairman of the AC celebrated the World Day for Safety and Health at Work which held on 28th April each year. Eng. Mohsen Salah honored a number of the distinguished people in the safety field. This was in the presence of safety and occupational health experts in the ministry of manpower and the Syndicate of Engineers, Eng. Emam Afify – AC Vice Chairman, Eng. Eman Soliman – AC Board Member, a number of the head of sectors, managers of the branches and department and the safety engineers and supervisors in the company. In his speech, Eng. Mohsen stated that the Arab Contractors Company with more than70000 workers is contributing in the execution of the national and strategic projects with the leadership of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi. He pointed out that the challenge facing Egyptian contracting companies in the execution of these projects with its different types…especially challenging the time element and the necessity to use non-traditional methods of implementation in addition to the great competition in the presence of foreign companies which necessitates to adopt the concept of "Safety First" to preserve individuals,equipment and property. He added that the protection of workers from occupational diseases and work-related injuries is an important factor of the company's priorities. The company works to develop this concept by spreading the cultural awareness of the safety and occupational health's instructions among the workers. Consequently, it will preserve the human resources of the company, avoid reducing work hours due to injuries and reduce the costs of treatment and compensation. All of us have to make this concept a way of life for the worker to avoid the risk of injury or death…God forbid. The Chairman pointed out that the Arab Contractors Company was the First in the importance and necessity of providing health care for the workers through the medical center,the medical complex and the clinics dispensed in the branches of the company. Besides,the close connection between the medical sector of the company and the safety and occupational health department by following up the work environment in different sites and providing the opinion and medical advice which preserves the health of the worker and avoid risk. Eng. Mohsen Salah expressed his hope to spread and apply more of the safety and occupational health's culture among the company workers which considered one of responsibilities benefits the employees and the company through the adoption and activation of a system based on the practical basics and commitment as a working method. At the end of his speech, Eng. Mohsen paid tribute to the Egyptian worker on the Labor Day that he deserves all respect for the great exerted efforts to develop the country. The seminar was held in the Rowing Club of the Arab Contractors Company and organized by the Occupational Safety and Health Department in cooperation with the Public Relations and Media Department. The seminar dealt with many important topics related to the safety and occupational health systems around the world through a number of lectures given by experts in this field.
