The Prime Minister inspected the construction of the First Fishing Port in Rashid

Dr. Moustafa Madbouli – Prime Minister visited the fishing port in Rashid which executed by the Arab Contractors Company. The project is considered one of the mega national projects according to the instructions of President Abdel Fattah Sisi. He was accompanied by Major Gen. Mahmoud Shaarawy – Minister of Local Development, Dr. Assem El Gazzar – the Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities and their deputies, the deputy of the Minister of Education, Major Gen. Atef Abdel Fattah Amin - the General Secretary of the Cabinet, Major Gen. Hesham Amna – Governor of Behira, a number of the executive leaders and the public figures in the governorate, Eng. Ahmed Abdel Qader – Head of Alexandria Sector, Eng. Ayman Attia – Manager of Alexanderia Branch, Eng. Gameel El Sayed – Supervisor of the marine works for the sector and Eng. Khaled Abdel Aziz – Manager of the Marine Works Projects. It is a noteworthy that the Alexandria Branch. It is a noteworthy that Alexandria Branch executed works in the ports with a value of 315 million EGP which is part of the 1st phase that will be completed by the next 30 June. the scope of works that will be finalized are: the installation of the sheet piles for 18 and 9 ml with an amount of 3790 ton, the supply and installation of scaffolds 511 ton to connect the front and back lines of the sheet piles; the excavation works for 190000m3 and the replacement layer for 150000m3 is undergoing. The concrete structure was completed for the following buildings: the painting workshops – the restaurant – 2 higher water tanks – the management and the workshops – the engineering department – the customs building – the fuel depot – the annex of the painting workshops – the depot of the heavy equipment – the cooling stores – the ice factory – threading factory – the electricity station. The ongoing works include: the steel ceils – the finishing for the buildings. The works that will be started are: the pumping stations – the cafeteria – the security building. Besides, the completion of about 90% of the main fence, the Nile's piling works of 258 piles of the maintenance berth which is considered the first of its kind in the region for the maintenance, repairing and the building services of the different kinds of ships. In addition to the following ongoing works: 70% of the concrete slab casting carried on piles for the body of the maintenance berth was executed and its total size is about 4500m3 of reinforced concrete; the installation of 95% of 450 ton steel manufactures for the permanent scaffold of the maintenance quay's slab; 90% of the submersible Nile protection works in front of the port's quay for 5m depth beneath the water level and 35m width inside the Nile and extend along the whole port's quay. It is consisting of sand and stone layers; Dolomite stones 1m height. The concrete works for the berthing quay (front and back berths) with a total amount 6000m3 approx. of reinforced concrete. The dredging works is ongoing which exists in front of the port's quay in the area of the reinforced ends; and in the south end area for dredging, 530000m3 were executed. The length of the port is 870m and the width is 60m and the draft in front of the port is 5m. The fishing port includes: berthing quay from sheet piles – front and back berths – main road in front of the quay with 30m width – services buildings – wholesale and retail halls – canning factory – ice factory - cooling stores - threading factory – cafeteria – 2 pumping stations for drainage – electricity station – fuel depot – 2 water tanks. The scope of work includes the dredging works for the Nile's bottom after the completion of the construction works for the quay and the buildings to reach 5m level with an amount 600000m3 approximately and the marine protection works in front of the quay.
