Transport Minister and Qalioupia Governor Laid the Foundation Stone for El Sharqawia Bridge in Shoubra El Kheima

Dr. Hesham Arafat – the Minister of Transport laid the foundation stone for El Sharqawia Bridge in Shoubra El Kheima which directly connecting the East of the railway with El Sharqawia on the agricultural road; the project total cost is 200 million EGP approximately. The Minister expressed his gladness with the project that will serve more than 4 million inhabitants from Shoubra El Kheima and its surroundings. He emphasized on the great trust in the Arab Contractors Company for its being one of the mega contracting companies in Egypt and Middle East with a wide spectrum experience in different fields. This was in the presence of Dr. Alaa Abdel Haleem Marzouk – Qalioupia Governor, Gen. Adel Turk – Head of the General Authority for Roads and Bridges, Eng. Mohsen Salah – Chairman & CEO of the Arab Contractors Company, Dr. Salah Hasb Allah – Parliament Member representing west of Shoubra El Kheima electoral district, Gen. Magdy El Waseef – Head of Shoubra El Kheima City, Hamdy Salama – Head of the West District, Eng. Mohammed El Hosseiny – Member of the AC Executive Board, Eng. Osama Nawar – Manager of the Dredging Department which executing the project's works, Eng. Hesham Aly – Deputy Manager of the Dredging Department and Eng. Aly Abdel Aleem – the Project Manager. The Project Manager declared that the bridge has 2 inlets, 2 outlets, 2 lanes on each side and its execution period is 18 months. The project is linking between Bigam - Meet Nama – Menttay with the agricultural road, El Moaasasa Square and El Corniche for going and returning; consequently there will be no needs for the railway cross which was obstructing the traffic movement for the comers from El Moaasasa Square and going to Banha city and the rest of the governorates. In addition to these, the project includes the expansion of the agricultural road above the existing bridge on El Sharqawia Lake in the direction of Cairo/Lower Egypt and vice versa that it will expanded from two to three lanes.
