The AC Fully Treating the Infected Workers with Hepatitis C Virus (HCV)

Eng. Mohsen Salah - AC Chairman declared that the company has fully treating the workers infected with the hepatitis C virus (HCV) and there is no longer a waiting list for treatment. He pointed out that President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi's initiative to eliminate the hepatitis C virus (HCV) by 2020 contributed greatly and effectively to eradicate this disease, besides the efforts of the Ministry of Health to provide treatment at an appropriate price. Eng. Mohsen Salah explained that the company treated about 2000 workers infected with hepatitis C virus (HCV) in addition to the treatment of pensioners of the company with a total cost 10 million EGP, which created a suitable environment for work. Instead of letting the infected worker as a potential source of infection for other workers or for one of his family, after receiving treatment and recovery from the disease, the worker returns to his work better physically and psychologically which reflected on his work and productivity. Dr. Mohammed Samir Azmi - Head of the Medical Sector pointed out that the Arab contractors company is doing the necessary examinations and tests to detect the infected patients, and providing them with the required treatment for a period of 3 months, then follow up until the recovery is confirmed completely. In the worst case of relapse, the treatment protocol is changed with a prolongation of treatment period to 5 months parallel with continuous examination for the worker, until the getting rid of the virus. Dr. Samir stated that if we discovered other new patients later, they will be treated until the eradication of the hepatitis C virus (HCV).
