Prime Minister handed over 57 housing units in New Assiut which is part of the 1008 housing units in 42 buildings constructed in New Assiut for the low income citizens. It is a part from the 1 million housing units' project.
The Prime Minister stated during the inauguration the importance of the one million housing units under construction which distributed according to the social housing and justice.
The Minister of Housing stated that the delivered housing units among 52 thousand units which already built in many new cities in different governorates with a total investment estimated by EGP 6 billion. In addition to building 200 thousands housing units per year as part of the social housing project which considered one of the mega projects dedicated to the low incomes. The project objective to build a million housing units with a total cost EGP 150 billion within the coming 5 years. He praised the role of the Social Housing Fund which is responsible for the management of this project. He stated that 450 companies in 440 working sites all over Egypt providing 250.000 business opportunities wither directly or indirectly.
Both of Eng. Mahmoud abdul Mola – Head of South Valley Sector and Assiut, and Eng. Mohammed Mahfouz – Assiut Branch Manger declared that the branch executed 28 buildings of the social housing project for the low incomes in New Assiut with a total cost EGP 60 million. Besides, the branch is currently executing 82 buildings accommodating 672 housing units for the low incomes in New Sohag with a total cost EGP 64 million.
