Ministers of Transport Signed the Contract of the Construction of 2 ports in Abu Ramad and Shalateen

Minister of Transport and Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities witnessed the signing of the Contract of Building 2 ports in Abu Ramad and Shalateen with a total cost EGP 78 million. This project is within the framework of the governmental efforts to develop the region, support the local community, enhance the fishing industry and meet the economic requirments in Red Sea Governorate. The project is providing more than 3500 job opportunities for both areas.
The total construction cost of Abu Ramad Fishing Port is EGP 42.6 million. The project scope of work: construction of  a berth with a total length 120m and it may be increased to 120m in the future. The new berth depth is 6m, drought reached 5.5m. It will be executed bu using gravity wall headed by reinforced concrete and it will be quipped with: fenders, bollards, metal rings and marine ladders. Besides, the construction of : entrance – exit - modern gates – administrative, custom buildings, equipping of the infrastructures for the port. This infrastructure is including: the wall, internal roads, trucks park, slipway for shipyard and management building. In addition to the construction of industrial zone in every port and providing space for  refrigerators and fish factories.
