Inauguration of Ahmed Orabi Axis with a Total Cost EGP 350 Million

The Ministers of Housing, Transport, Local Development, Giza Governor, the Head of the Central Region and AC Chairman officially inaugurated Ahmed Orabi Axis a whole week before its scheduled completion date. Minister Eng. Ibrahim Mahlab thanked and praised the project workers, engineers and supervisors for their exhorted efforts to accomplish this national project which will ease traffic in Cairo and Giza.
The Minister of Housing said that the Egyptian people proved to be the greatest people in the world, and we have a strong will to rebuild the country, we will overcome any obstacle … the whole world waiting for the results of 30th June revolution which dazzled everybody, thus the slogan of the current phase is working Hard ."
Eng. Imam Afify and Eng. Salah El Zahed – the Board Members declared that Ahmed Orabi Axis is parallel to 26 July Axis; 1750m length serving 2 million citizens with a total cost EGP 350 million. The Manager of Bridges and Specialized Structures Department, which executed the project, said that the Axis includes: a main car tunnel 605m length and 30m width and 4 lanes. In addition to the vertical bridge serving Bashteel inhabitants that it serves the vertical road on the corridor leading to the Ring Road through building a bridge instead of making a crossing on the Corridor. The length of the vertical bridge is 360m. Besides, the building 4 inlets and outlets from Orabi Axis to Cairo/Alex Agricultural and Desert Road; from Haram and Al Marg to the New Corridor. Moreover, the construction of a pedestrians bypass serving the citizens to pass the New Corridor 58m length and 3.5m width to serve Agouza, Dokki, Mohandseen, Parageel, Bashteel, Awseem, Warraq and linking them with the Ring Road in a few minutes.
