Eng. Mahlab praised the workers efforts on the Kilo 100 New Lock Project on Nubaria canal. The project will be accomplished sooner before its scheduled time. This project is considered a new success to the tunnels and slip forms department. The project scope of work: 2 basins, 120ml for each (the distance between the 2 gates), 17m width, 3 hydraulic gates and store for the drying equipment of the lock. Besides, the controlling building, operation monitoring, upper bridge 70 tons capacity on Nubaria canal. The project objectives are replacing the current lock, decreasing the average of the traffic time for the navigation units from 30 to 20 minutes, decreasing the waste water, facing the expected increase on the river transport, decrease the water pressure on the gates to 50% and achieving the possibility of passing the river units in case of the river low level.
