As we used to be a pioneer in the globalization era and for the first time in Egypt ... the Internal Roads Department of the Arab Contractors received from TUV the ISO 50001:2001. This certification is the new global standard for Energy Management developed by the International Standard Organization.The ISO 50001:2001 certification has been awarded to AC for its energy management systems, commitment and endeavors in the field of energy use and environment conservation. The head of road sector, the manager of the internal roads department and the head of the mechanical affairs sector in the AC honored Eng. Mahlab the first certificate in rationalization of energy consumption in Egypt for his role in supporting the road sector and urging the workers to compete in the local and international market as well. The workers in the internal roads department declared that the main objective of the application of energy management systems is the rationalization of energy consumption without affecting the quality or the production in the construction sector. The department is paying 10 million US$/year on solar and electricity to mix asphalt which increase profit, reduce the environmental impacts and decrease the Carbon emissions which contribute in the environment conservation.
