Dr. Abdel Kawi Khalifa, Governor of Cairo, in the morning of Wednesday August 17, accompanied by Eng. Ibrahim Mahlab, President & CEO of the Arab Contractors Co., opened Complex School Pedestrian Tunnel, under the ring road, which will ensure students and citizen safety and will improve region traffic flow, too. This was stated by Eng. Hany Hmad - Board Member.
Eng. Mohamed Abo Deshish, Manager of Tunnels & Slip Forms Dept., pointed that Hydraulic Pipe jacking technicque and Wall Construction Slipform System are used for Tunnel building. AVN3200 machine is used for 3.2 meters depth below the ground level.
The tunnel , 75m. length, 4m. outer diameter and 3.2m. inner diameter, reaching a total cost of 30 million pounds, is finished to a high level of luxury, provided with stairs and elevators to improve region traffic flow as well as ensuring citizen safety.
