On Tuesday 5th May 2009, General Abdel Salam El Mahgoub - Minister of Local Development, on behalf of Dr. Ahmed Nazif - Prime Minister inaugurates the development project of Al Remaya Square and its surroundings. In the presence of Eng. Ahmed El Maghrabi – Minister of Housing, Utilities & Urban Development, Eng. Mohammed Mansour - Minister of Transport, General Sayed Abdel Aziz - Giza Governor, Eng. Ibrahim Mahlab, President and CEO of the Arab Contractors Company and Eng. Mohamed Adel Fathi – Vice President.
The project scope of work is to solve the traffic problem of the square and serve the traffic fluidity bound for Alexandria and Fayoum. It’s noteworthy that the Road Sector carried out the project in a record time within 60 days. The project includes: the construction of precast kerbstone (15,000m²) and Asphalt surface (200,000m²) According to the highest level of quality, without affecting the traffic flow of the square in coordination with Giza Traffic Department.
